Dear Family and Friends,
First of all — and I have been remiss to not tell you this sooner — the pictures are from my camera (phone) and from those of John, Spence, Campbell, Autari, Maggie and Kemp. In addition, Campbell had a good camera that he used a little and John brought a pretty old, pocket size, Canon 40x Zoom camera — which was still more zoom that my iPhone 12! Anyway, the pictures are from all of us; I got to choose which ones to use, but — as many as I have sent — I can assure you that there are MANY more! When I make my photo book I am going to be hard pressed to choose where to stop!
Anyway, on to our arrival at Enasoit. When we arrived, they thought we had been fed. In actuality, only the younger group had received sack lunches to go. So the managers put out a fabulous spread of cheese, fruit, hummus, brownies, etc. We jumped in as it was about 3:00 p.m.
Then it was off to our fabulous tents to settle in:
If the Masai Mara was all about the game, Enasoit (pronounced ena-soyt) was all about relaxation and pampering…..and the game! All the massages, manicures, pedicures, horseback riding were included. Plus there was a great game room, a media room and a swimming pool with a fabulous cabana for lunch. The family did go on game drives, but unless we saw something fabulous, they had seen enough zebras, gazelles, impalas, etc. that they were no longer excited by it. Plus, there was a watering hole just in front of the main dining area and just almost in front of our tent. So you could easily do a porch safari and be lazy!!
Then on to the next morning:
We all were given our PCR Covid Test for travel. Our travel agent arranged for a nurse to come to the camp to administer the tests — a great service for us!
The kids went horseback riding:
Meanwhile, I chose a massage:
Lunch by the pool (a 5 minute ride from the base camp) was a treat. The kids thought swimming was great, but remember that it was winter there and the water was cold. They didn’t care.
Wildlife at the camp:
And the sun goes down on another day:
Another day, another visit to the pool:
And another sundowner in the bush:
I should mention here that the kids were fed early every night here so that the adults could enjoy their dinners while the kids were watched in their tents….except for Calder who easily fell asleep on the couches in the dining room. I guess we were all so relaxed that we forget to take photos of dinner.
Our third day began with an employee of the camp picking up the remains of a cookie jar which held butter cookies that had arrived each morning with our coffee. Apparently in the five minutes that it took us to get outside for our coffee, a monkey had grabbed it off of the tray and smashed it in the yard to get to the cookies.
And we were off again:
And back at the camp:
Here is some of the beautiful plantings on the path up to the pool:The
Another afternoon game drive:
And we finally have a picture of us at dinner:
I guess the kids were there some of the time; I think they started eating earlier and took off just as we were beginning.
I’m going to sign off again and complete the trip with a very exciting last day next.
More soon,
Beth
What a wonderful trip and such a great experience for the children! Thank you so much for responding

Enasoit looks so serene—love the stone (?) bathroom, the interesting wood, the flowers: looks like lantana, lavender, aloe, bromeliads; & your sweet little Darlings, Ellie and Calder. Great pics of relaxing Bill!
